Our Virtual Courses Are Live And Never Pre-Recorded

“Your ability to solve problems and make good decisions is the true measure of your skill as a leader.” – Brian Tracy

Let’s just address the elephant in the room, COVID-19. It is here and it presents a problem, but we are problem solvers as engineers. Where others may see a brick wall, we see an opportunity for solutions and we will continue to pursue that goal no matter what challenges we face. Yes, COVID-19 has affected each of our lives. What we won’t do is let it stop us from delivering a high-quality education to the achievers, goal-setters, and growth-minded individuals that are called to a career of Web Development.

So how is LearningFuze addressing COVID-19?

Thanks for asking! We feel great about the plan we have in place. Until March 31st, our Info Sessions, Root (prep) classes, Full Immersion cohorts, and Part Time Modules will be held remotely. Our Root classes and Part Time Modules had already been available remotely for students so this isn’t anything we haven’t already been through before. As a result, our Full Immersion is fully prepared for this shift as well. As all responsible businesses are doing, we will be monitoring the situation and adjusting accordingly. COVID-19 is not to be taken lightly, but we won’t let it stop your pursuit of a career in tech!

What tools and processes are in place?

Depending on how much time you have, this could be a separate article of its own. The tools we’ve already been using and will continue to use are: Zoom, Slack, GitHub, our proprietary student portal, and traditional communication channels like email, text, and phone. For those of you unfamiliar with Zoom, we can’t begin to stress how powerful this video conferencing tool is. Our classes will be using it for lectures, code discussions, tutoring sessions, and each team will have its own dedicated account for those students building their final project. If you have any questions about our use of the other tools, please don’t hesitate to reach out as we love discussing efficient work practices, professional communication, and time management best practices.

What else makes LearningFuze so prepared for a situation like this?

Well, having the largest full-time team in Orange County definitely helps! In addition to that, our Career Services team is still in communication with local employers as well as hosting our weekly job search webinars and doing mock interviews. Outside of that, we have an extremely active Slack channel with over 1,000 coders sharing remote work ideas, projects they are working on, and job openings they hear about. And finally, having our own campus is a huge advantage! Since we are not located in a coworking space or high-rise with countless other companies we have control over our facility as well as when it will reopen. We are following CDC guidelines and hope other companies are as well. Having a dedicated campus means we have complete control over the cleanliness and do not have to rely on others to hold themselves to high standards of health.

I’m not gonna let COVID-19 stop my pursuit of a career in coding, what should I do next?

Keep in mind that our info sessions, prep courses, and part-time programs will be remote for the time being.

Info SessionsFor anyone that hasn’t had a chance to attend one of our Info Sessions, we suggest starting there. Keep in mind that attending an info session gives you free access to Root Level 1. For the time being, they will be held remotely and you’ll get a chance to see the power of Zoom! Follow this link to save your spot – https://learningfuze.com/info-session

Full Immersion –  If you already know that you will be coming to our top-rated coding bootcamp in Orange County, then feel free to submit your application for either our Full Immersion cohort or our Part Time Program. We are holding current sessions remotely until March 31st. For those of you attending our Full Immersion program, we will then work to set up a remote interview through Zoom. Those of you going the Part Time route can begin working through the pre-work once you’ve registered for the class.

Prep ClassesAre you still caught in the middle? Feel free to see how you feel about coding by taking one of our Root prep classes that introduce you to HTML, CSS, JavaScript and more! They are built for people new to coding and will give you a great idea of how you feel about it before making a bigger commitment. https://learningfuze.com/prep
