Thanks to Peter for coming to visit the students for the official final day of the recent cohort. Peter was able to interact with students as they celebrated their success in completing the program and transitioning into pursuing their dream of becoming a professional web developer.

Peter provided an exciting view of what Cornerstone is all about, their culture and their astronomical growth over the last few years. The company is definitely employee centric as they provide a plethora of amenities and benefits such as morning breakfast, yoga, workout center, unlimited vacation, grants and an unbelievable view of the ocean in in the heart of Santa Monica and Silicon Beach.

Cornerstone is certainly a success story with the SaaS solution they provide to help organizations to recruit, train and manage their people. They work with literally thousands of some of the largest companies in the world including Walgreens, Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Xerox and smaller companies as well. In fact, as you will read on their website their solutions impact over 18 million people in 191 different countries. I think that literally is like 97% of the countries in the world!

Peter provided valuable insight into not only his organization, but also the opportunity in the market for developers where there is about 4 jobs for every one developer in the market and that is projected grow as the demand increases. Those developers that not only have acquired the skills as a coder but can also demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively, collaborate and problem solve will be in even higher demand.
