"Back End Development" is an 8 week, part-time course for those who want to learn how to utilize the most popular and powerful backend languages and databases used in development today.

Course Features and Topics

This 8 week course is designed to maximize learning the structure and use of backend languages, specifically C# with .net, and how the backend completes a true full scale web application. The following is a week by week summary of the topics covered in the course:

Week 1

Basic Network Communication, Intro to Servers, Intro to C#

Week 2

Server Input/Output, Accessing/Testing Server Applications, Intro to Razor Syntax, MVC Basics, Serving Data in MVC, JS/CSS Bundling, MVC Data Validation

Week 3

Service Layer Controls, WebApi 2 Basics, WebApi Controllers, WebApi 2 Routes, Serving Data in WebApi 2

Week 4

User Authentication on servers, Stateful Data Flow on Servers, Logon/Logoff in MVC

Week 5

Introduction to Databases, t-SQL and relational databases, C# t-SQL Integration, Intermediate t-SQL

Week 6

Mongo and NoSQL solutions, C# and Mongo Use, MVC and Mongo Use

Week 7

Deploying to a Server, Cloud Services - AWS Servers, Discussion of Multi-tiered Architectural Patterns

Week 8

Client/Server Interactions, Server DNS - Domain Names and Sub-domains, Making a Full-Stack Application

Students will maximize their learning experience by having direct interaction with highly skilled, seasoned instructors who are there to help them develop the skills needed to build dynamic web sites and applications. The sessions are conducted in-person at our facility but students can participate remotely if needed to accommodate busy schedules.

Students of LearningFuze are never truly alone, even when working after hours. The classes each have their own chat room and question queue moderated by an instructor. Students can ask questions, collaborate on projects, and work together throughout the course. Instructors are available for direct student assistance before each class and in the evenings on non-instructional days.

This is a required course to complete the Back End Development and Full Stack Development tracks of the Part Time Comprehensive Program. The only exception to this are those students who have tested into a later module.
