FAQ

+ Why LearningFuze?

LearningFuze has a strong track record of success nationwide as a top-rated data science and software engineering bootcamp. Our programs commit to teaching cutting-edge education and technology, with a 100% custom curriculum that has been honed and developed since 2014.

Our Web Development and Software Engineering courses are taught by experience industry professionals who have all been employed in their respective fields.

Our teaching methodology is a deliberate practice of building real-world projects in an agile environment to give students a deep practical understanding of data, web development, and surrounding technologies. We encourage students to thoroughly research any program before committing, and look at the student reviews of any prospective programs.

+ What programs do you offer?

LearningFuze offers full-time and part-time software engineering and data science bootcamps. Both options are offered online and in person at our Irvine campus.

Before being admitted into our web development or data science programs, students must complete the prep course and admissions requirements.

Our software engineering bootcamps cover HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, TypeScript, Node, PostgreSQL, servers, databases, React, and more.

Our data science bootcamp is broken up into two modules which teach data analytics and machine learning & AI systems.

The part-time coding bootcamp and part-time data science bootcamp is optimized for students who can’t take the full-time option due to employment or personal obligations. Both disciplines offer the same curriculum as the full-time coding bootcamp and full-time data science bootcamp.

+ Is this a certification or accredited program?

No, LearningFuze is approved to operate in the state of California by the BPPE. Approval to operate means compliance with state standards outlined in the California Private Postsecondary Act of 2009. Students are given a certificate of completion once they graduate from the program.

+ Is a coding bootcamp or data science course right for me?

Bootcamps have undergone rapid growth in the several years since the Department of Education has even recognized intensive bootcamp-style training programs as an “innovative model of education.”

The number of students stepping up to the challenge has skyrocketed, but there is a big difference between being interested in a new challenge and being ready for that challenge. So, what kinds of people might be ready? Let’s meet four of them.

  • Anyone who likes to build, create, or assemble things: Ask any group of computer professionals what they love most about their jobs, and you’re likely to hear a similar refrain: the sense of enjoyment and satisfaction that comes from actually building something. Web developers are builders, creators, and makers. They go home each evening with tangible evidence of what they accomplished. If you’re someone who appreciates seeing the real-world results of your efforts, you’ll find plenty of company at the nearest code school.
  • Anyone who enjoys learning: Do you have a relentless curiosity about the world around you? Are you on Wikipedia regularly? Is your Google search history filled with questions about random things? Have you ever taken something apart just to see if you can put it back together? If so…welcome home! Coding schools are perfect for those with curious minds and a thirst for knowledge.
  • Anyone who wants to be wanted (professionally speaking): Wouldn’t it be nice to work in a growing industry? Computer science is one of the fastest-growing and best-paying segments of the American economy. Students with 4-year computer science degrees haven’t kept up with the demand. Alumni from LearningFuze have had great success filling these positions in Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego, and nationwide.
  • Anyone who knows the value of a good coach: Even if you possess an innate drive to learn, it’s inherently valuable to have a mentor or instructor there to guide you along your journey and answer questions — at the very least, a coach is someone who can hold you accountable and keep you on track. Think of it like working out with a personal trainer as opposed to going it alone. That’s what LearningFuze’s experienced team provides. Someone to show you what you don’t know, to keep you on track, and to push you further and faster than you ever believed you could go.

If you don’t fall into any of these categories but have a strong interest in becoming a web developer, data analyst, or data scientist join our next info session to find out if our tech bootcamps are right for you.

+ What are the application requirements?

Full-time and part-time web development applicants must be 18 years of age or older, have a high school diploma or equivalent, possess a personal laptop, and successfully complete the Web Development prep course.

Full-time and part-time data science bootcamp applicants must be 18 years of age or older, have an undergraduate degree, some understanding of math (e.g. linear algebra), some understanding of statistics (e.g. mean, median, and mode), and knowledge of any coding language.

+ Do I need programming experience?

The full-time and part-time coding bootcamps do not require prior programming experience, however, students who have done some level of self-study before the course get the most out of the instruction.

The data science bootcamp doesn’t require programming, however, students with no prior experience have a more difficult time conceptually if they don’t have a preliminary understanding of any coding language.

+ How much is tuition and what are my payment options for the data science and coding bootcamps?

Students can choose to administer their tuition directly via ACH, wire transfer, check, or credit card. We also offer deferred tuition, installment plans, and a loan option.

  • The investment for our web development program is $19,750.
  • Our data science bootcamp is a total investment of $14,240.

+ Do you offer discounts?

We offer a variety of discounts and scholarships for needs-based participants. Some scholarships and discounts include: Up-Front Payment Discount, Early Bird Registration Discount, Women in Tech Discount, Special Identities Discount, Veteran Discount, and Needs-Based Scholarships.

+ Do you offer refunds?

Yes, we do offer refunds

We require the cancellation of any course to be in writing, and that a withdrawal may be effectuated by the student's written notice or by the student's conduct, including, but not necessarily limited to, a student's lack of attendance.

LearningFuze will refund 100 percent of the amount paid for institutional charges, less a reasonable deposit or application fee not to exceed two hundred fifty dollars ($250), if notice of cancellation is made through attendance at the first class session, or the seventh day after enrollment, whichever is later.

LearningFuze will refund unearned institutional charges if the student cancels an enrollment agreement or withdraws during a period of attendance. The refund policy for students who have completed 60 percent or less of the period of attendance shall be a pro-rata refund.

+ What continued education classes are provided by LearningFuze students after program completion?

LearningFuze alumni have lifetime access to curriculum updates and modifications. We also offer short courses (under 30 hours) that feature in-demand technologies for alumni to level up beyond graduation.

These short courses are discounted for alumni and cover topics such as Machine Learning for Engineers, Data Structures and Algorithms Deep Dive, and Junior to Senior Engineer Fast Track (Skills to Get Promoted in the Field).

+ Do you help me find a job after graduation?

Students receive in-depth and industry-leading job assistance in pursuing employment and being job-ready upon graduation from the full-time and part-time web development and data science courses.

We have built and continue to build a network of employers and hiring partners nationwide. Based on progress in the course, students are offered job referrals based on preferences (e.g. front-end or back-end), engagement in the post-program process, and overall technical ability shown throughout the course.

+ Can you connect me with internship opportunities?

Yes, we have relationships with employers in the Orange County area that offer multiple student internships after the program.

As part of the Teamshares network of small businesses, we also connect graduates to small business presidents for contracted and short-term work including data projects and website optimizations.

+ What are your guarantees?

No bootcamp can guarantee a job. However, we can connect our recent graduates and alumni with our 300+ employer connections as referrals. Once an interview is secured, it’s up to our graduates to land the role!

We’re confident that students who excel in the program can obtain a position in the industry. We often keep up with the demand as we have employers asking for more graduates—and even hiring students before they finish the program.

We take the employment aspect of the program very seriously and will continue to assist the students until they have secured a position. We will work to connect them with the open positions in the marketplace and companies in which we have developed a relationship.

+ Do I have to take your referrals or can I become an entrepreneur after the course?

We understand that some students complete our data science and coding bootcamps for a high-paying career opportunity, but some students complete the course to build their own businesses. It’s up to you, we don’t discourage either one, and we will support and mentor you even after you have graduated from the program.
